Philippe Benedetti joins from Schroders to lead Blue Owl’s Private Wealth business in Switzerland
NEW YORK and ZURICH, September 2, 2026 – Blue Owl Capital Inc. (“Blue Owl”) (NYSE: OWL), a leading alternative asset manager, announced today the opening of its first dedicated office in Zurich, Switzerland. The office expands Blue Owl’s global reach and establishes permanent local resources within a market that is one of the most significant capital pools in the world. This allows the firm to capture opportunities for its clients across its three distinct platforms and deepen the existing relationships Blue Owl has built with private banks, wealth managers, family offices, investment platforms, pension funds, and insurance companies across the country.
The Zurich office will support Blue Owl’s engagement with financial intermediaries in Switzerland, including private banks and wealth managers. It is Blue Owl's eighth office in the EMEA region and its twenty-fourth globally.
The office will be led by Philippe Benedetti, Managing Director, Private Wealth Switzerland, a Swiss national who brings deep operational roots and local understanding to Blue Owl’s work in this market. He will report to Ros Price, Managing Director, EMEA Head of Private Wealth. Benedetti joins Blue Owl from Schroders, where he covered intermediary and institutional clients in Switzerland from 2021, working across the firm’s product range to serve Swiss private banks, wealth managers, and professional clients. He previously held senior roles at DWS and UBS. In his new role, Benedetti will work closely with Antonis Maggoutas, who leads the team responsible for covering institutional investors across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
“Private markets is not a homogeneous asset class,” said Benedetti. “Success requires deep expertise in the sectors where a manager operates, as well as the patience and continuity to build a market presence over time. For Blue Owl, that expertise is rooted in private credit, real assets, and GP strategic capital. Blue Owl’s work with Swiss clients began when the firm was founded, and the Zurich office makes that presence permanent and reinforces our commitment to the country.”
Doug Ostrover and Marc Lipschultz, Co-Chief Executive Officers of Blue Owl, said: “The opening of our Zurich office reflects our commitment to building a meaningful presence in one of the world’s most important financial markets. Switzerland has a distinguished history in asset management and banking, and it is central to the growth of our European business. Establishing a permanent presence here brings us closer to our clients and positions us to deepen those relationships across the breadth of our platform.”
Blue Owl was among the first alternative asset managers to build the relationships, distribution infrastructure, and product suite required to serve Private Wealth investors at scale. Today, Blue Owl’s Private Wealth platform serves more than 175,000 clients globally through a dedicated team of over 190 professionals, providing access to the same institutional-quality investment capabilities available to many of the world’s leading institutions.
Blue Owl has established relationships with private banks, wealth managers, family offices, investment platforms, pension funds, insurance companies, and global financial institutions across the country, spanning private credit, real estate, digital infrastructure, and GP stakes.
